Progress report
Just a short post to update you on things I'm currently working on. Firstly, lets talk about the hangout system.
Hangout / Date system
The first version of the system is pretty much complete. It doesn't work as well as I want it to, but this version was easier to make and will be easy to improve in the future to make it work as well as I intend to.
After about 180 days spent in the game, you get an event telling you about hanging out with other people. From that point on, you will be receiving "social energy" points every week depending on your renown (1 point minimum even with zero renown). Once a week, you can then talk to main NPC and ask them to hang out with you (Helena and Billy will be the only NPCs suported at the begining). Hanging out is separated into four stages. Selecting place and then three different activities. Each option cost social points and some require money. You can finish all four stages or you can quit sooner. Depending on your choices, you will receive mood boost and your relationship level with the NPC you are hanging out with increases.
Every NPC will have different preferencess. For example, some will refuse to drink, some will refuse to dance and some will refuse to hang out on the beach. Chosing the right option will give you larger mood bonus.
Aditional hangout options get unlocked as you get older and as you explore.
That is the initial version. Future versions will have more options to chose from and will give you more control (Right now, having a dinner just cost money. In the future, you will have to select the specific dish you want to give the NPC).
Begging / Performing system
This system will allow you to make some money at the cost of moving time forward towards night. The amount of money you get depends on multiple things. Having relevant skills, like singing, dancing or playing an instrument, the clothing you are wearing and your renown. Pretty simple system and should give some options to players who ran out of money early in the game, or to players who want to make money without actualy working.
Ichor system
I want to keep this one as a mystery for now. every month, somewhere in the caves, a red gloving container will spawn. You can pick it up and if you give it to certain NPC, you get a very special reward. The rest is up to you to find out.
That should be it for now. I can't say when the next version is going to get released, but it should be pretty soon since most of the hard work is done. I have to add the hangout dialogue to one NPC, finish the initial hangout event and do some finishing touches on the ichor system.
