"Magic" system overhaul

Small update on the upcoming patch.

Long story short, I finaly decided to redo the "magic" system. The game was still using the default skill system, which was way too simple and not interesting enough. This new system I made should remedy that.

"Magic" in Sinathir will be more complex than just learning a spell and using it by paying its price with mana. You will go through three stages of magic knowledge. First stage, which is now in game, is called "pebble infusing".

When you join the church, you will get one skill depending on the blood stone you deliver. Right now it is either fire or flesh, but more are planned and might even be added before release of next version. This skill allows you to infuse blood pebbles with its properties.

First, you have to mine blood rock from the blood monolith in the caves. A short mini-quest will show you where it is. Then you have to refine the blood rock into pebbles. Later you will be able to learn more efficiend refining process so you get more  pebbles from single rock. These pebbles have three sizes. Small (Weak single target effect), medium (Strong single target effect) and large (medium multitarget effect).

Then you take these pebbles to a new crafting station and you can infuse them with the powers you have. Fire deals damage, flesh heals. Making pebbles costs endurance (previously used for casting spells). when you are done, you can put these pebbles into your battle inventory and use them in combat, or you can use the healing ones anywhere on the map.  Every pebble lasts for one use.

As I add more blood skills, you will be able to create pebbles combining multiple of them. For example antidote that heals, fireball that also deals lightning damage etc.

This is the weakest form of magic that will be in the game. As you get stronger and climb the ranks of the church, you will learn entirely new types of magic. These are not set in stone yet, but they will allow you cast spells directly without using pebbles or maybe give you abilities outside of combat (Grow crops instantly, transmute metal, teleportation, telekinesis,...). These will come much later though.

That is all. Next patch will also have some fixes and additional improvements and I might still do the sprites for age 17.

Very cool! I really like the idea of, like, crafting spells. I think that would suit the game very well. I prefer to wait several updates between trying in-dev games again, but I'm excited to play Sinathir again when I get around to it :)

I'm glad you like it. I want to do some small additions and probably the new sprites before I release the new version. Might even be able to finish it next week if nothing bad happens.
