Sinathir 0.12 - Magic overhaul
I released new version, focusing mainly on overhauling the magic system and playing around with window transparency.
This patch is compatible with previous version, but only if you didn't finish the "one of us" quest. You unlocks from previous playthroughs will still work.
Pebble system
This system replaces early game magic (The only type of magic currently in the game). To put it simply, it is pretty much a scroll creation system you know from other RPGs. You learn an elemental skill, make pebbles of different sizes and imbue them with said element. Then you can store these pebbles and use them in combat or sell them.
First, you have to join the church by completing the "one of us" quest. After that, a short cutscene will teach you how to obtain materials and make new pebbles.
Mine rock from the monolith find in the caves, refine it using mechanics skill and finaly infuse it by using raw pebbles and some of your endurance. Helena will also start selling some basic pebbles when you finish the quest.
This system ultimately makes magic little less useful and more tedious, which doesn't sound good. Don't forget though that this is the first level of magic you will have access to and as the game progresses, you will unlock more different kinds of magic, including traditional direct casting, rituals and more. This will nicely contrast your abilities at the start of your game and at the end.
Window transparency
I tried to make most of the menu screens have a transparency effect to make them look more interesting. Personaly I really like it.
I added transparency only to some windows. I want to hear some feedback before I commit to changing all windows.
There is one small problem. Some maps use unoptimised tilesets, which slow down loading of menu windows a bit. It is only temporary problem though, since I will be redoing the tilesets in the future and thus lowering the size of them.

- Fixed minor error in dialogue with Zacharias
- Mining now takes the proper amount of food
- Added transparency to most menu windows
- Map sprites for Helena now change with your age
In near future, I plan on releasing some kind of roadmap for this year to motivate me a little more. I will have to think about it for some time, but I already have some rough ideas in place.
